At Science of Innocence, we are a team dedicated to helping those who cannot help themselves. We investigate wrongful convictions through facts, data, and DNA truth. Our goal is to ensure science is used to reveal the truth, not manufacture convictions.
The justice system often relies on "experts" who are actually just law enforcement officers with minimal scientific training. These individuals are frequently called to present subjective interpretations as objective facts.
Research from the National Academy of Sciences has highlighted that many forensic disciplines lack the scientific validity to consistently connect evidence to a specific individual. We challenge the junk science used to convict the innocent.
